Will represented Yarrambat Primary School at the Edebone Region Finals (one level below State) last Tuesday, 12th of October. His recount is as follows... I was very nervous, as in my warm up I witnessed another kid throw 30 metres, where my first throw went out of bounds, I went back behind the disc and refocussed thinking of all my good throws previously. First throw I threw 20.47 metres and said to myself “I got game” very pleased with my throw. Next thrower threw 31 metres, I thought ‘he’s good’. Second throw 21.42, allowing me to move up into fourth place. I stayed in this position until my final throw. I gave myself my best ever Lleyton Hewitt fist pump, screaming ‘Come On!’ I stepped into the disc and fired off a 21.86 metre throw. Moving me up into third, one spot away from State Championships and now contemplating taking up Little Athletics.

DATE: Tuesday 4th May 2010
DEPART SCHOOL at: 9am
RETURN TO SCHOOL at (approx): 12.30pm
MODE of TRANSPORT: Bus
COST: $7
SPECIAL INFORMATION:
•Children will need to bring all food and drink for the day; some sport drinks will be available for purchase at the venue.
•Children will need to wear shorts and a t-shirt to run in, it is also a good idea to wear layers so that they can be worn before and after the race.
•Parents are very welcome to attend on the day and we will require two parents to marshal on the day.
•Raffle tickets will be for sale at the event to win $100 worth of sports equipment these will be sold for $1 each or 3 for $2.
•Children with asthma will need to bring their own pump for the day and keep it on them at all times.

SPORTS EQUIPMENT
Boring post - I know - but just so all know we are a little slower handing out the sports equipment this year. In an effort to have our students respect our school belongings for every week they have there allocated sports equipment they will get another piece.

Welcome to 2010
I'm looking forward to PE and Sport in 2010. A totally different role for me this year, one I think I'm going to enjoy. Kicking Mr Fleming off the cricket team, relieving Mr Penson of his Football Coaching are two things I'm desperately keen to do. I can't recall either of them having any real success in 2009.
